WILD would like to congratulate Letticia Martinez for representing the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA at the ParapanAmerican games held November 14-18 in Guadalajara, Mexico. Letticia swam well, breaking an AMERICAN RECORD in the 50m Freestyle. Great job Letticia! Keep up the great work!
Samantha Harding broke 4 New Mexico Swimming records at the USA Swimming Winter National Championships December 1-3, in the Girls 17-18 200 Meter Free and 800 Meter Free and the Girls Senior 200 Meter Free and 800 Meter Free. She placed 10th overall in the 800m Free against the nations greatest swimmers. In addition, she got her second Olympic Trials cut in her 400 IM to go along with her qualification in the 400 Meter Free over the summer. WILD and it's members are proud of Samantha and all of her accomplishments.
Despite the previous weeks being extremely challenging from a training perspective, the WILD swimmers who competed at the SWAT Invite October 15-16 gutted it out and put up more incredible results. The team set 31 Team Records, bring the years total team records broken to 82 overall records! A special congratulations to Letticia Martinez who set an AMERICAN RECORD for fully blind swimmers in the Women's 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:26.57. Another highlight was Noah Allison qualifying for the State Championships for the first time ever in the boys 11-12 50 Freestyle. These results are fantastic at this time of the season.
WILD brought 15 swimmers up to Albuquerque December 2-4 to the Charger High Desert Classic. As usual, all athletes performed great! There were dozens of first place and top 8 finishes, and every swimmer had multiple best times. 16 more Team Records were broken bringing the season total to 106 broken records. Great job swimmers!
